Farou Foods: The Egyptian Building in Chino Hills

There’s a replica of the Egyptian Abu Simbel Temple in Chino Hills. Located off the 71 freeway in the Commons Shopping Center parking lot with BJ’s Brewhouse, Lucille’s BBQ, and Hobby Lobby, the 5,945 sqft building was originally built in 2019 to house the restaurant, Farou Foods. However, due to Covid the restaurant never opened. The exterior of the building is completed with intricately detailed carvings while the interior remains empty and unfinished. It remains unclear whether the restaurant will open in the near future.

The Egyptian Building in Chino Hills Review

There’s not much to do at this location seeing that the restaurant never opened. However, it’s quite a site to see in the middle of Chino Hills if you’re interested in Egyptian history and architecture. The building is easily accessible and there’s ample parking available. If you have time, check out Baps Shri Swaminarayan Mandir around the corner.
